why aren't they removing them from that environment and housing them somewhere else for monitoring?
They aren't contagious, right? I see no sane reason to keep them there.

But it's just another minor detail that apparently nobody considered in advance.
It looks like nobody consulted anybody who actually works in the field when whoever made whatever plans they have for this situation.

(146,317 posts)Texas is in charge of stuff that happens in Texas, and "Texas is a whole other country," according to their tourism department. Texas doesn't want to pay for the costs of moving these people and keeping an eye on them. Texas doesn't want to pay for a hazmat response to this problem. Texas only wants to get rid of "all those immigrants."
Who knows what CDC recommendations Texas is rejecting? I sure don't. Jurisdiction is everything in Texas.

I would guess that those who are quarantined in the apartment will exhibit signs of ebola in the next week to two weeks.
