BREAKING: Students Occupying Beavercreek PD Station w/Demands

Last edited Mon Oct 6, 2014, 09:18 PM - Edit history (1)

Students protesting the lack of prosecution for the murder of John Crawford III are occupying the Beavercreek Police Station with a list of demands.

A couple updated:

But the first few minutes of the radio broadcast here, tells us that the DOJ probably won't "be able" to do anything. SHOCKER! And that John Crawford had some pot in his system. (What about the cop god damn it!) And some other things, like the other cop saying John Crawford had a shocked look on his face and more lies from the Ritchie family.

And not just students are protesting. Open Carry people are too

I almost think ISIS was used to take our minds away from all the militarization of the police forces across the country.

If you have not seen this and you can't watch police brutality, don't watch it, just listen. There are 241 separate incidents of police brutally on this.

in my old stomping grounds. I left Dayton for Los Angeles because of the winters and a conservative grip on thinking there.

I've lived here the bulk of my sixty years and never considered Dayton "conservative". Perhaps you moved from a suburb?

So much vitriol is directed toward Texas and Alabama, for example, that it is easy to forget the Midwest, especially.

Most understand how things are hard in, say, Detroit and Chicago, but Ohio or Missouri? No way!

Yes, way. There's a whole lotta misery right across this nation.

And it's in Florida and California and Massachusetts and pretty much everywhere.

Thanks for the local POV.

Northerners came to the south to help fight for equality. Then they wanted to integrate the schools in Boston, Detroit and Chicago. What a awakening!

I can't even comprehend it being at the center of something like this.

It's amazing how many little areas are now pretty big. The village I grew up in is where my father's family moved to in the early 50s. Was mostly farmland then. Now, it's one of the larger suburbs

Most of the traffic lights on U.S. 35 are gone.

Somehow, the area between east Dayton and Beavercreek became the Village of Riverside, in which the AF Museum now resides. Curiously, as with the lack of beavers and creeks in Beavercreek, I have not yet found a river in Riverside.

That's a recipe for either success or further radicalization. It's methodical and focused. It probably won't work because police don't care about the demands of the community, and this probably won't leverage enough power to force a reaction. But this certainly is the way to go about it, on the road to bigger steps.
