DCCC Billboards Hold House Republicans Accountable For Choosing “Millionaires Over Medicare”

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is now up with billboards in 14 vulnerable House Republican districts to hold them accountable for choosing “Millionaires over Medicare” in the recent Republican budget vote. The billboards are up for the entire month to highlight these House Republicans voting to end Medicare for seniors and raise health care costs, while protecting tax breaks for the ultra wealthy and Big Oil.

The AARP has warned that the Republican budget “is likely to simply increase costs for beneficiaries while removing Medicare’s promise of secure health coverage,” while the Tax Policy Center showed that people making over $1 million per year would get an average tax cut of $394,000.

“We will go district by district to hold House Republicans accountable for their vote that gives millionaires an average $394,000 tax cut while costing seniors thousands of dollars more for Medicare,” said DCCC Chairman Steve Israel.

Before the recent budget vote, the DCCC launched a “Stand up For Medicare” web video featuring Martin Sheen speaking out about Republicans again choosing millionaires over Medicare.
