(39,215 posts)therapist for this kind of thing. She is the one who told us to bring him in and she was going to be watching for him. I am sure he will get excellent care. I actually hope they keep him overnight.

The new virus that recently appeared is called EV-D68. It's not influenza, it's a different virus.

(12,051 posts)excellent care. I have a 7-yr-old grandson and I'm just waiting for that enterovirus to go through his school. It has arrived here in VA, but in only a few areas.

(23,156 posts)Not to belittle your genuine concern, but knowing what is actually out there, what people are getting sick from, is important.
It's like knowing the difference between a bacterial infection and a virus. If you don't know which one anti-biotics are appropriate for, you need to learn.

(39,215 posts)his lungs and it does not show the same things. Now he is back at the hospital this morning trying to find out what is wrong with him. It could be just plain flu along with asthma. Thank all of you for your help.
