Nation panics: Southwestern College Evacuates Students

A Southern California community college evacuated part of its campus after a student told an instructor about a family member who had recently traveled to the Midwest and was hospitalized with flu-like symptoms.

Students at Southwestern College in Chula Vista were evacuated Thursday morning after the student contacted her instructor to tell report why she had been absent, school officials confirmed

As a precaution, school officials shut down one building according to Public Information Officer Lillian Leopold.

A friend related a story while in line for a flu shot person in line told others she was getting a flu shot so she would know if she got sick this winter she might suspect Ebola. The people in line stated they had never thought of that and she had a good idea. Good grief!

A building at a college in Southern California is evacuated because someone who has never been to that building was near someone who was absent from that building, because that other person has flu like symptoms and they fear ebola?

By that same logic I have probably had sex with Tom Cruise.

Generally, most of us really don't have any serious idea of just how many people are in this country, and how much it really sprawls.

My son, who is in Tanzania, which is in eastern Africa, said the folks there are not even talking that much about it. They live with disease on a much different level than here.
I think I am way more afraid of the reaction of people than I am of the actual disease.

Which is now representing a serious economic threat in this country.

Ebola is seriously risky for those who have had actual contact with an actual patient, especially one who is in the advanced stages of the illness, and especially if PPE equipment and protocols are inadaquate. It is not risky for someone who had contact with someone who was on a plane with someone who was beginning to develop the earliest symptoms, and it's not risky for someone who's been in contact with someone who was in the same state as someone who passed through with early Ebola symptoms.

This is getting simply rididculous.
