When I click on a DU thread, I can't get back to where I started, instead takes me back to Wed Oct 15, 2014, 10:21 PM.
I seldom post but lurk and read several times a day. i have actually been here since Wes Clark dropped out in 2004, had to start over when we moved, got a new computer, new server and I simultaneously forgot my password.

(146,325 posts)You haven't provided enough information. Start, though, by exiting DU and closing your browser. Open the browser again an return to DU. Try that. If it doesn't work, give us the information asked for in my title.

Thirties Child
(543 posts)I rebooted and everything is fine. Thanks for the advice.
I had to ask Mr. Thirties what my browser and operating system were -hard to believe that we've had computers since 1984 and I was once technically literate. Our first was a RadioShack Tandy, then a Morrow for CPM. We had a very early Apple, maybe a second generation Mac, and so on and so on and so on. Mr. Thirties wrote a computer column and I even reviewed software for him. I think I reviewed something like 25 word processers - loved WordStar, loved Xywrite even more. Mr. Thirties wrote a column about Bill Gates and Microsoft in Biblical style. It's still available on humor sites. Thus Spake Gates if anyone is interested.

(53,339 posts)If you want to avoid rebooting, I'd guess that clearing your cache might also work. You might or might not also have to log off and back on to DU, I don't know--I'm strictly an amateur. You're far more computer literate than I am.
