Why is EVERY media outlet saying the 2014 elections are over

and the Republicans have won as many as 10 seats ? Have I missed something the Republicans have done that make the American public want them to be back in power ?
Why is the media and the trolls here at DU working so hard to convince us it's all over ?
But, why do I feel like I'm being bull shitted ?

Here's an example:
While the RCP average for this race is at 4.0 points, the most recent survey, from the left-leaning Rasmussen Reports poll, shows McConnell leading 52 percent to 44 percent for Grimes. Democrats are highly unlikely to retain the senate majority without winning this seat.
http://www.examiner.com/article/republicans-within-reach-of-55-seat-senate-majority

Seems like someone is working waay too hard to discourage and suppress, and I pray those that are never polled will make their efforts useless.

Just a Sunday rant. All my teams lost today.

Not to mention the bull about that race (Grimes v McConnell) being the pivotal race.

Wow, news to me.

I have no idea how the election is going to turn out, but I really hate the media for pushing this. You'd almost think they were corporate-owned or something.

I notice that they seem to have written off Mark Begich in Alaska, not showing him in the "tied" category, which I think is premature. He has great rapport and support among the rural communities and Native villages, and I think that vote has been underestimated. They are the ones, after all, who gave Lisa Murkowski's write-in campaign the win in 2010 after Joe Miller won the primary. Dan Sullivan is as right-wing as Joe on the social issues, he's a neocon, and a Condi Rice acolyte, some kind of assistant secretary of state. (For some reason, they're showing her fear-mongering Sullivan endorsement on TV right now). He is seen among many who love Alaska as an "outsider," a "carpetbagger" and a "plant," all of which are true.

Sullivan might pull this off, as he's backed by both Kochs' and Karl Rove's PACs (his parents gave over half a million dollars to Crossroads GPS) and all the big, oily corporate interests here who threaten people's jobs and such, and so his campaign has bought up most of the air time. In Mark's favor is that people know him, people loved his father and his family, and his roots are here. He is far more in touch with his constituents.

Mark's not perfect, but he's a hell of a lot better than Sullivan.

These 6 Corporations Control 90% Of The Media In America

This infographic created by Jason at Frugal Dad shows that almost all media comes from the same six sources.

That's consolidated from 50 companies back in 1983.

NOTE: This infographic is from last year and is missing some key transactions. GE does not own NBC (or Comcast or any media) anymore. So that 6th company is now Comcast. And Time Warner doesn't own AOL, so Huffington Post isn't affiliated with them.

But the fact that a few companies own everything demonstrates "the illusion of choice," Frugal Dad says. While some big sites, like Digg and Reddit aren't owned by any of the corporations, Time Warner owns news sites read by millions of Americans every year.

Here's the graphic:

Divided government keeps the political ad cash flowing, money is always important of course.

IF...you happen to be a corporate media mogul salivating over the prospect of "new" stories about "new" players that generate "new" excitement and attract more readers/viewers...and advertising dollars based on your new improved ratings. Winning!!!

And Republican hands-off/do-nothing policies may help your mogul's stock portfolio as well as allow you the freedom to carry on as the dehumanized corporate profiteer you were meant to be.

but if you expect the results to be good for the Democratic Party, you are not getting good information: the average person no longer trusts the government, and a Democrat is the face of that government. We will lose because our government has pursued wars and the interests of wealthy elites and ignored the needs of the people.

Remember, most people don't even know enough about Congress to accurately state how many Senators there are - nuanced arguments will be completely lost on the masses. Arguments referring to Republicans in Congress will be lost among a population that isn't quite clear on what exactly Congress is in the first place.

Go back to 2006, and the same MSM outlets were talking about the Democratic wave at this point before the election. Media focuses on the horserace aspects because their audience isn't interested in the policy issues.

You're not a Cowboys fan? I could have sworn you were. I guess if you are one like myself everyone else looks like they are too I don't know

Methinks they protest too much. It ain't over 'til the votes are counted. If they do win it will be a sad day for America, for us so we have to make sure we get our asses out and vote and try to take as many as we can with us when we do.
Like I tell everybody I don't care who you vote for, (if they're in my company most likely they're dems too,) just Vote
