Actually, an interesting clip, but did anyone really learn anything new here?

(6,604 posts)No offense intended, but the title of your post did seem a bit leading.
Thanks, and peace back--sincerely.

(6,604 posts)I really find the subject of ants fascinating and enjoyed the video. I was only hoping it furthered understanding.

(16,423 posts)Or that the caves follow a huge pattern even though there's no plan and a single digging ant doesn't have the brain-capacity to memorize the layout of each floor and room.
There's a lot more on Youtube.

(11,001 posts)things they build in their nest. The results showed a series of tunnels and caves that had been created by the ants as they exited and entered the hill. The mold gave an intricate picture of the inside of the mound and the scientists were able to dig out and extract the entire mold. Some of these molds are actually on display .

(31,849 posts)I'm glad that ants don't have a sense of wow to be satified ... and if they do, that they satisfy it in a way that is less destructive to humans.

(25,816 posts)There are several large ant hills on my land. They like the seed I give to the birds. But even though they are everywhere. I never get bit. So I leave them alone too.
Made me think.

(110,159 posts)an ant farm for the boys. we had it for a good three or more months. i was totally fascinate, with feeding, and watching these ants create their world. carrying off the dead to a place. waste. ect... very interesting. now that i have more time, i want to get a more complex one. i did the same with a fish tank, once i started observing, and different breed behavior. i got thrilled when i learned i could train the fish. we got little babies. they never got the food. i started tapping on the big ones when they would come up. they had to wait for the food to drop. the babies ate from the top. loved it. lol
