Nathan Cirillo's dogs clearly love him as much as he loved them.
The dogs broke the nation's heart Thursday, poking their heads from beneath the fence of Cirillo's family home in Hamilton, Ont., seemingly waiting for their master's return.

A vigil is forming outside the Cirillo home, with flowers, cards and tokens of respect lined up in front of the red brick house, according to CTV News.
Cirillo was killed Wednesday while standing guard in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Ottawa.

It could be both. Ask them, then get back to me. It has nothing to do with treatment, it has to do with what the dogs are thinking.
Prove up your claim with their testimony, please. I'll wait.
Here's a little illustration.

(5,790 posts)Dear LA:
You'll be happy to know that your response won a split decision with the jury. It wasn't hidden. That having been said, you might want to consider a self delete. The response seems overly harsh in the context of the thread. The man is dead; his dogs seem sad; people relate to that. Let those people be.

(14,881 posts)at their graves to accept they may well be pining. They certainly look as though they know something is quite wrong.
But I have lived with animals all my life and come to believe they know far more of what is going on than most give them credit for.

(9,951 posts)You come into a thread about a couple of dogs that appear to be pining for their slain owner and immediately disrupt it.
Geez.

(15,238 posts)Living next door our mixed breed hound went up the hill and laid on that grave. I saw that myself when I was 5 many many times over the years even when the burial site was not noticeable. As an adult I have read similar stories, do not underestimate especially dogs and for that matter cats.
CAG
(1,820 posts)innocent victim of a shooting is:
1) cunning propaganda to draw sympathy to the victim and his family....er, uh, which evidently there's something wrong with that, and
2) the dogs did not factually report just why they are looking under the fence. It could be a one of a number of reasons, maybe a mix of more than one reason. Unfortunately their limited grasp of the English (or French, it is Canada you know) language did not allow the photographer to find out for sure.
I thought this post would be important to summarize the (thus far) ELEVEN posts that LA has posted to edumacate those of us that seem to think we know EXACTLY what the dogs are thinking. I did this summary in about 2 minutes, approximately 123 minutes less than the 11 posts took LA today.
