(29,067 posts)She looks like she has some Pomeranian in her -- Am I correct?
MoonRiver
(36,926 posts)Her fur was cut short when she was spayed. When it grows out she will be very fluffy.

(29,067 posts)I wasn't big on small dog breeds until I came across this adorable Pomeranian
at a rescue/adoption event once. I picked up her fuzzy little red self and
she looked up at me with these big, trusting eyes and fell in love.
I couldn't adopt her, unfortunately, as I have another dog who is dog aggressive
and very jealous, but she was adopted by someone else who gave her a good home.
I would like to adopt one down the road, though..Are they known to be particularly
affectionate. The one I handled seemed so.

(36,926 posts)She sleeps with us and both my husband and I love to reach out in the night and pet her oh so soft fur. Very comforting, especially after grieving for our dog that passed in January.

(36,926 posts)She's a little ball of perpetual motion, unless she's taking one of her frequent power naps. Also she can walk on her back legs and frequently does, just for the fun of it!

My Shrimpy is a Pom....a Pomershrimpian!

(36,926 posts)Is that Shrimpy in your sig line? So cute!
BlancheSplanchnik
(20,219 posts)Yep, that's Shrimpy! She weighs five pounds. She's SMALL!
MoonRiver
(36,926 posts)She's 5 1/2 months. I'm told she probably won't get any bigger, unless she fattens up, haha. She does love her food!

(39,313 posts)Fluffier? I'd like a large dog but a Pomeranian seems smart without a yard.
Fortinbras Armstrong
(4,473 posts)She will probably be about 28 inches at the shoulder and around a hundred pounds when full grown. She will have a very fluffy white double coat.
Quite a few years ago, my wife saw a Pyr and said that was the dog she wanted. Constanze is our fifth Great Pyrenees (we tend to have them in pairs, the other is a two-year-old male called Amadeus -- you may notice a Mozartian theme here). We get them from Great Pyrenees Rescue of Central Illinois, where the woman who runs it looks on us as regular customers.

(14,881 posts)I'm thinking of a Pom next time around. Or a Bichon. Or an I don't know what. Maybe a collection!
Right now one of my 2 pups is aggressive towards anybody not in our pack, so I have to content myself with just 2...
MoonRiver
(36,926 posts)Had to be a small rescue dog. Other than that I just wanted a cute little dog, which we subsequently referred to as CLD. I think my wish came true!

(36,926 posts)We lost our 16 y/o yorkie last January. Pebbles has filled a big hole in our hearts.

(3,998 posts)Our pup was about 13 y/o with congestive heart failure. She lived a year longer than our vet thought. She had a happy pampered life. Miss her so much though! I'll probably wait quite a while until I get another dog. I'd like to be able to rent a little house with a yard. Apt. living with a dog has been hard for me with all the stairs and no outdoor potty place. I'd have to move out of CA to be able to afford a rental house, so it may be a looong time Small homes in my area can run $2,500+ a month. Too much.
