Quigley died Tuesday at the age of 87 in San Francisco.
Here is how the former chief of staff described Quigley's role in the Reagan White House, via the Times:
She was kept on a $3,000 a month retainer and spoke with Mrs. Reagan two or three times a day, according to the Times. Private phone lines were set up for her at the White House and Camp David.
Read the whole remarkable account, written by the Times's Douglas Martin, here.

(14,923 posts)would be coming from teabag, wingnut reTHUGS if President Obama had on payroll and consulting with an astrologer to set & schedule the best times to have meetings, surgeries and political functions as well as Michelle conferring with the same astrologer 3 times daily???
The MSM would have been roasting the Obamas on a spit!!

(8,974 posts)This here is the present, with all that real life marriage equality happening which will cause our own marriages to crumble, according to the good folks at the Family Research Council . So listen up all you righteous God-fearing homophobes out there -- Get together, secede your red state from the union, and call whatever comes out as "Reagan" or better yet "Reagan Land". The next big steps would be to name an Astrology Czar and nominate Louie Gohmert for our Prez , but first things first!

(35,015 posts)To desperately need the advice of one person *in the name of astrology* before making a decision is addictive behavior. Nancy talked with the astrologer 3 times a day? Definitely pathological.
There's nothing wrong if astrology is used as a general tool for reflection and insight.

(313 posts)Ronnie was extraordinarily successful with his diabolical agenda...his timing must have been impeccable...
Democrats could surely use some astrological help...i could write a book on astrology and politics...have been following it for years...it is frustrating to say the least to watch things unfold at bad times...for instance, Howard Dean was doomed from the start and i really really wanted him but nobody asked me to set the time for his announcement...lol...
i would suggest that before all you guys start sniggering at things you don't understand that you maybe take a few hours to study them...i got into astrology to prove that it doesn't work...joke's on me...
You don't have to believe in astrology and other metaphysical things to have them work...just like you don't have to believe in gravity...all you got to do is jump off a building...

(543 posts)Nay-sayers get their ideas about astrology from atrological forecasts in the newspaper. They have no idea what it's really all about.

in downtown Washington (why, yes, the WH does have a chapel)--just a little reminder for the overindulged Marguerite Perrin types who think that because they worship Ronnie he agrees with them on everything
heck, Quigley manipulated Ronnie into meeting with Gorby over and over (a "short, light stranger"?)--what a Renaissance man!

(and just wait 'til all the good little technocrats trying to cite gravitation learn where Newton and Kepler got the idea from...)
