Gov Cuomo clarifying Ebola protocol: 21 day home isolation, not institutional

A journalist friend of mine who's advising the Administration was planning to cancel a hot zone visit if she was going to get forced into an isolation ward.

He didn't cave to science he caved to public opinion. There were several highly respectable highly knowledgeable people who agreed that the original automatic quarantine was a good idea. Now that its home quarantine my question is how will it be enforced and what will be done if the subject violates their quarantine?

and tell your journalist friend to stay home. We already know that West Africa is a lousy place to be.

I'm still pissed off at "Doctor" Nancy Snyderman, whose crew member got sick, and she went out for her soup run.

Unless your journalist friend thinks they are lying.

In any case, it's just more unnecessary traffic between the two places.

12. So you're saying the only things a journalist can learn are from American visitors?

Nothing to learn from patients, local officials, civilians?

We don't need unnecessary trips to West Africa from Americans. We already have more than enough troops going there to build Ebola treatment centers, and we have plenty of doctors and nurses volunteering to go there to actually do something besides talk on a TV screen, or write in a newspaper or magazine.

Tell your friend not to be a 'hero', we have enough real ones heading in that direction.

9. Wasn't it supposed to be a home quarantine all along, for NY and NJ residents?

I understood that the nurse was confined in a hospital because she wasn't a resident of NJ -- just traveling through.
