Florida men catch 765-pound gator with bare hands

A rope, a few hooks and their bare hands were all two Florida men had when they caught a scale-breaking 13-foot alligator in the St. Johns River, according to WJAX.

Keith Kelley and Kelly Sziy had spent months scouting for "Lumpy" and when they finally found the massive reptile they had to make do with what they had.


It took four hours, but the pair was able to kill and pull in all 765 pounds of the beast. Now, Florida Fish and Wildlife officials are working to figure out if the 13-foot, 4-inch monster is big enough to claim the state record for largest gator ever caught by hand.
