A Clerburn, Texas police officer – Kevin Dupre – was caught on camera killing an innocent puppy and attempting to kill a second innocent dog. Care2 members are demanding that this officer be terminated, and you can help bring justice for six-month-old puppy, Maximus.
The 22 second video above is from the officer’s own body camera. It is hard to watch. In the video, the officer calls Maximus to him with kissing sounds, like you might use to call your own dog or cat for a snuggle or a treat. The puppy approaches, and Officer Dupre shoots Maximus three times. Dupre then aims his gun at Cocoa – the other dog – and you can hear the officer’s radio go off. That radio saved Cocoa’s life, but Maximus was not so lucky.
Officer Dupre claims that the puppy was behaving aggressively, but in the video you can see that Maximus is wagging his tail and not growling or even barking. Before he called them, these dogs were walking away from Officer Dupre, and they only approached because he called them. Animal Control was on the way when Officer Dupre took it upon himself to execute Maximus.
The Care2 petition demanding justice for Maximus had 107,000 signatures as of this writing, and the petition goal is 150,000. If you are disturbed by what you saw in this video, I hope that you’ll add your voice to the 106,000 others asking Cleburne Police Chief Rob Severance to terminate officer Dupre.

Computer Hackers Attack Cleburne After Dog Shooting
The FBI is investigating a cyber attack on the city of Cleburne that shut down the city’s website and appears to be motivated by a police officer’s controversial shooting of a dog, the mayor said Wednesday.
"We're under attack as we speak,” said Cleburne Mayor Scott Cain. "We consider an attack on the city an attack on the residents, and we're not going to put up with it."
