Watching Diane Sawyer's interview with the Romneys, I studied Ann's face and body language as she spoke. My gut reaction - my intuition - is that she is not a kind-hearted woman. There's something about her that made it all to easy for me to imagine her with a snarl; a privileged woman used to getting her own way and when she doesn't, there's hell to pay.
Of course this is just an observation, but in my life, when I feel this way about someone, I'm usually right.
Oh, and one more observation - both of them got spray tans.

(29,090 posts)"would torture her own children".
Effing A, I dislike Repukes as much as anyone,
but you REALLY can't tell me that you "know" she tortures her children,
or her dog (despite Seamus)...That's just a tad "over the top".
just1voice
(1,362 posts)If one of the Mormon's kid converted to Islam she'd have ZERO problem with water boarding him then going on TV and saying it's not torture.
Not over the top, FACT.
whathehell
(29,090 posts)1. Ann Romney is a Republican.
2. Ann Romeny supports "torture camps"?..Not sure about that..Has she SAID so?
Let's assume that's "true", although it's actually just an "assumption", and not a "fact".
So..."hypothetically", if Ann Romeny's kid converted to Islam "She'd have zero problem with water boarding him..".
I'm sorry, but that's just TOO big a leap. .

(50 posts)the 'over the top' thing seems to be the rule rather than the exception these days and the left seems no better than the right with regards to this kind of thing. really sad to see it.
wonder what would happen if people could only posted factual statements as opposed to inflammatory emotional unsubstantiated opinion.

muriel_volestrangler
(101,361 posts)"the left seems no better than the right" is a "factual statement" rather than "inflammatory emotional unsubstantiated opinion"? I don't.
And your pre-emptive "crickets chirping" is silly. Here's the answer - you'd have to alter your own posting style, just as much as other people would.

(10,618 posts)It's that she thinks nobody else is a good as her.
See the difference? Rather than elevate herself, which would be prideful and arrogant, she merely recognizes that she is what she is, and that others just don't measure up to her standards. It's not her that's doing the elevating, but the other lesser beings who are failing to measure up.
HangOnKids
(4,291 posts)That is exactly how these cretins can stay smug and above reproach. They don't have to be "above" the rest of the masses, they simply know they are and if you can't catch up you are a loser. See no arrogance, it is just the fault of lesser human beings. Great post BTW.

Parading one's sexuality in that fashion, to manipulate for votes,
puts all women in a shitty light. I'M SICK OF IT!!

(12,647 posts)Her father was a devout atheist until a year after his death, the Romneys had him baptized in the Mormon church.
Edward Roderick Davies was Ann Romney's father and died in 1992 after living as a staunch atheist all his life.
Recently-discovered records show that, in keeping with their controversial tradition of posthumously baptising non-Mormons, a ceremony was held to invite Mr Davies into the Church of Latter Day Saints one year after he died.

(10,942 posts)It is cool to them for a few miles. After that, dogs want the same protection of the inside of a car that humans want. Romney is a person that has no core and as a result, no sense of limits. Romney's dog may have liked the feel of wind during a drive, but that love was for maybe a few miles, not many miles trapped in an enclosure with no escape.

(10,942 posts)That will become more obvious as Romney's campaign mistakenly put her out as the spokesperson for Romney. She has a cold persona that will betray her during unguarded moments. I almost fell on the floor when Romney made the pack bags snide comment. Ann Romney almost cut a hard fart laughing, the laugh was spontaneous and evil. On a base level, Ann Romney doesn't appear to have either class or empathy.
