Illinois Governor Pat Quinn Instrumental In Ending A Month Long Teacher's Srike In Waukegan....

Following a contentious board meeting Tuesday night at which a board member told an agitated crowd to "shut up," Gov. Pat Quinn dispatched Illinois State Board of Education Chairman Gery Chico to Waukegan to try to break the impasse. "Students in Waukegan need to get back to school, and we need both sides to work together to get it done," Quinn said in a news release.

Today the teacher's voted to ratify the contract and the strike has ended.

Quinn is in a contentious and close race with wealthy Repub Bruce Rauner who would do to Illinois what other Repub governors have done to upend their states.

I hoping that this news of Quinn's intervention here will get him to continue into the Governor's seat after next Tuesday.
