Central California, finally there is rain. Running off the roof, soaking the ground. A steady typical Pacific system.

I'll be overjoyed when it does get here, though it's a bit discouraging that the forecast estimates for my town have gone down from 1" to 1/3" as the day has progressed.
We need it SO badly. Still....

(15,139 posts)the news that it was a deluge. The courtyard of her apartment building was flooded. This is such great news! Expecting it to make its way south to me soon. My brown lawn can't wait!

I hope your daughter is enjoying UCSB -- it's really a great university.

(1,945 posts)About 8:45 my husband came in and said "No wonder all the trick or treaters are gone...it's raining!" A really good steady rain. More than a sprinkle but not a downpour. My plants are going to be sooooo happy!
The bad news is that when I opened the door for the dogs to go out they just stood there and looked as if it were a river out there. No way these spoiled mutts will go out now. Hope it will last for a while at least. (In North East Long Beach)

I think we share similar weather systems. Terribly dry from August - October. Huge wildfires, as well.

(247 posts)Rain was forecast to begin today and it came true. It came down heavily at times here in San Luis Obispo. My citrus trees were so parched they dropped most of their fruit. This is very, very welcome in big and little ways.

(81,340 posts)FINALLY!!! It started raining just before midnight here in SoCal. Rained all night. I woke up early because the dog wanted to go out, and it wasn't raining but it was still very overcast. And as soon as I stepped outside, it started again - and I had to run back inside and grab an umbrella!
Raining at this moment at it's a little after 7:30am! Not even completely light yet!

(40,416 posts)Halloween day. Rural west Michigan. Thankfully no accumulation. But it nevertheless sucked just the same.
It's too early for this shit. I certainly do not want to suffer through another winter here as last year.
Oh brother! Jenny, bar the doors!
I'd gladly let you have all the rain you want if it did not mean that I would have to pay a guy with a plow to dig my driveway out so many times this upcoming winter.

(6,719 posts)Woke up several times in the night with pouring rain on the roof. wonderous. I am in northern San Diego County. Only a few light showers this morning. But last night gave us a good start.
