My smackdown of Congressman John Sullivan

Just recently my repuke congressman put me on his mailing list because I contacted him complaining of the internet censorship bills. Congressman Sullivan sent me the following email.

Dear Friends,

Tax Day:

As families and businesses scramble to file their tax returns, and send even more of your hard earned money to Uncle Sam, I wanted to take a moment to update you on action I am taking to lower taxes for ALL Americans.

I have gone toe to toe with President Obama and the Democrat Senate at every turn to stop them from raising taxes on families, businesses, healthcare (Obamacare) and energy production.

This week, I will vote for H.R. 9, the Small Business Tax Cut of 2012. This common sense measure will help small business owners retain more capital, invest in their businesses and create more jobs. Under this proposal, small businesses would be allowed to deduct 20% of their income from taxes regardless of whether they are organized as a corporation or file independently.

The federal government does not create jobs; private sector businesses create jobs. Our government needs to get out of the way to allow for America to get back to work.

Here is my response to him.

Dear Congressman Sullivan do you want to know what tax fairness is? Tax fairness is keeping the tax burden on those least able to afford it low and raising it on those who can most afford it (those in the top 1% of income earners). We are not asking for congress to rob the wealthy what we are asking is for the wealthy to pay their fair share. Have you even seen the income inequality that is plaguing the US? (if you haven't here's a nice little chart ) It's nigh impossible for people at the bottom of the income ladder to move up into the middle income ladder. The middle class is disappearing while the wealthiest Americans keep getting wealthier and wealthier. Mr.Sullivan if tax cuts for the wealthy create jobs then where were the jobs during the 8 years of the Bush Administration? Also government for a fact does create jobs, police, mayor, the people that work at the various government agencies, and your job Mr.Sullivan, government created your job. Thanks for reading.
