http://bluntandcranky.wordpress.com/2014/11/05/america-is-about-to-get-the-government-it-asked-for-god-help-us/More Americans voted for Republicans than voted against them, so now we shall have even more GOPee government than we had before. Its the will of the electorate, idiotic and short-sighted as it may be. Things are gonna suck a lot harder going forward for the vast majority of us. And unless you actively voted to defeat Repubs, you are getting what you asked for.
Sucks for the minority of us who worked hard for a different outcome, but the nation as a whole has picked this government. America is gonna regret this choice, but hey, maybe itll learn a lesson this time. Unlikely, but possible.
America, you asked for this, and you got it. You f***ing idiots.

If we had followed that advice we would be in another great depression, and it would still be going on. Yes, a lot of people are still hurting, but a lot more would have joined that list if a romney was president

(28,270 posts)And it is coming sure as the sun rose up in the sky this morning.
The hate and greed of the republicans, the pathetic leadership failures of the democratic party and the total idiocy of a great part of the American public will make sure that it will happen.
I wish I was rich right now. I would either move to Canada or somewhere in a progressive Europe or I would dig a big whole in the woods and stock it up and await the apocalypse.
I have just about lost all hope for this idiot country.

(67,112 posts)is a time when it is said the best solution/policy is to walk away from it all, there is no solution, it is a loss cause, quit spinning cycles. I hate to say it, but sometimes I feel that way with the US. I think for the masses in this country there are hard times ahead. The problem is, it's very hard to walk away since the results will effect all of us.

(67,112 posts)in Florida got back in. America now deserves what they elected into office and the forthcoming results. It's so sad that millions have to suffer that had greater wisdom than to get sucked into another round of this GOP sh**. I guess some are just hoping for a repeat of the Bush years and many no doubt want Reagan back.

(7,581 posts)We pay taxes, the federal govt gives the money to the poor states for their Medicare, etc. No more. Let them all see what life is like without the smart, hardworking people who vote blue. THEN, maybe they will get their lazy asses to the polls.
Because a ten year war, collapse of the financial system, high unemployment didn't teach them a lesson. Maybe starving will.

(17,621 posts)About how old-timers used to cure farm dogs.of killing chickens. The farmer would take a chicken the dog had just killed and tie it firmly around the dog's neck, then make sure it stayed there until it completely rotted away. After days of enduring the rotting mess and the smell, the dog would never want to go near chickens again.
Right now, the Repugs and the idiots who voted for them are getting what they think they want. The chicken has just been tied around their necks. We'll see how they feel two years from now. Trouble is, we're in the position of that poor farmer who has to see and smell that damn rotting chicken too. it's going to be a long two years before we can get rid of them. The Repugs can do plenty of damage in that time. And it isn't as if they haven't done a great deal of damage already.

(29,322 posts)and is showing significant improvement and while middle class are still feeling the effects, Obama wants unemployment insurance and payroll tax cute so workers can take home more of their pay.
Any economic report showed tax cuts as the major factor as well as war by far the 2 biggest effects on the economy.
The U.S. is leading the way -- were the only major economy with accelerating growth, said Mark Zandi, chief economist in West Chester, Pennsylvania, for Moodys Analytics Inc. and a registered Democrat who has advised both the Obama administration and Senator John McCain, a Republican. Obama deserves some credit for that, but he probably wont get it.
http://www.bloombergview.com/articles/2014-10-02/grading-obama-on-the-economy
Republicans haven't changed when it comes to their economic policies that led to Black Monday, the Reagan Recession, and the Great Recession. Not only are they transferring the wealth to the rich, they also want cuts to the safety nets which people are going to need when they have to deal with lower wages & disappearing jobs.
The people that support the party and policies are killing themselves and others effected. We've seen the real world consequences but the propaganda machine is so effective is pretty much every Republican in every election supports tax cuts which clearly doesn't work but still are relevant. Those tax cuts won't help them, they fight the tax cuts that go to those "who need it".

(100,102 posts)The Republicans and the ultra corrupt bankers and billionaires have held our country hostage since the Reagan administration and refuse to let go of their power. And thanks to right wing hate radio dipshits like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity who exist only to repeat the big lie that we're the enemy, America has fallen for her kidnappers. It's pretty disgusting.
