Be the media through the internet and through taking back our local party leadership.
I just read through last weeks free paper here. Tons of ads telling people to vote for Democrats and others vote for republicans.
Did not see one ad about why anyone should vote for Democrats. Not one.
Our job is to tell the 2016 voters why they need to vote for Democrats.
Otherwise all they will see is the lies from the big money ads on TV trashing us.

(20,591 posts)Democrats need to counter the nonsense from the republicans. R's pretty much have a monopoly on the media so Dems should be making a loud objection to the fact that Democrats are not represented on the tv political shows, they need to question why fox news is shown in so many public places, they need to expose the sources of the crazy internet lies about Obama and the Democrats. They need to face up to reality.
Do they think that Cliven Bundy is an anomaly? If so they better start mixing with the real folks to find out how extreme the situation has become.

He said he didn't like how the Democrats were in favor of allowing immigrants into the country and that Dems were all for letting Ebola people in.
I don't watch TV. He said he watched CNN and MSNBC. I can only gather that the TV lies worked on him?
It's well known that republicans are in favor of the cheap labor from Mexico, while what we think is right is that anybody who wants to share the American dream, gets a chance to do so.
As for Ebola, well, I guess the party should have had a better plan or just put forth a more concerned attitude? Ebola is a scary prospect, and a lack of planning does feed into the pubs claims of being more defensive.
We simply have to reach out more and understand what concerns the common person, then act more resolute to make known why Democrats will do a better job. The media won't do it for us in the next two years, it is up to us.

(4,835 posts)We need to make people understand that the candidate who advertises the most is the candidate that is on the 'take' the most.
In other words, if you see an ad on TV about a candidate, you need to vote against that candidate. It's a pretty simple message to get across. We, as voters, need to send the message to the candidates that we recognize what's going on.
People need to be suspicious about the Koch industries ads, the Boeing ads, the General Electric ads - why are companies advertising their company without an actual consumer product to sell. Obviously, it's to control the media.

We need to connect with people who don't watch much TV.
We need a new ACORN type group action.
And we need candidates who will speak out. Those candidates will not be seeking big money contributions. They will be Grayson like candidates.

(13,685 posts)What if Obama went on TV and said that if you vote for republicans you are voting for more Ebola, more Bush 9/11, and more of what we had to go thru before 2008. Then the people voted big time for democrats which helped the stock market to record highs, and lower gas prices like we all love seeing today?
What if? What if all our candidates said that at every speech and on their ads?
