Random thought about China and the U.S.

Everybody thinks we're China's bitch because we owe then $1 trillion. But really, that relationship gives us more ability to screw with them than vice-versa. Over the next 20 years, we could inflate the currency and maks China's paper worth less and less. And they can... what... come after us with their second-hand Russian aircraft carrier? Puuuleeeze.

Germany benefitted from Greek borrowing for a long time, since the proceeds of those loans went to purchase German industrial output. In like manner, Chinese loans to us enable our purchases of Chinese industrial output.
