Historic, half-ton pot auction in Washington Saturday

http://blog.sfgate.com/smellthetruth/2014/11/14/historic-half-ton-pot-auction-in-washington-saturday/

Cannabis farmers have gone from watching the federal government auction off their seized property to doing some auctioning of their own.

The Oregonian reports this week on Randy Williams, owner of Fireweed Farm in Prosser, WA., who is set to auction Saturday hundreds of pounds of licit Blue Dream, Blueberry Purple Kush and One-Armed Bandit to qualified processors and wholesalers.

November marks the close of harvest season for Washington’s first legal outdoor crop in modern history. Fireweed Farms has about a ton of product to bring to market in lots ranging from five to 100 pounds. Williams received $1,500 per pound earlier this year.

Washington legalized over-21 commercial cultivation and sales of cannabis in 2012, though it remains federally illegal. A handful of stores are open in the state.

Hmmm... wonder what the high bid will be?

I got that If my calculations are right, that comes to $3 million dollars for that farm crop. Nice.
