from what I can tell, multinational corporations with foreign investors are buying our government and acting in their own interests. How much influence foreign governments have I don't know. To me corporations are not people, citizens or patriots. They answer to shareholders not what is good for our country. If they can buy off our politicians they do. To me it seems like both parties are bought off but the GOP does their bidding more.

most corporations shares are mutual funds, others are shareholders who are presented a crew to vote for, it would take someone with time and money trying a take over to make it interesting. So mostly people pick among the crew presented yb the cheif officers of a company. so the rich get richer and stock holders be damned.
