FL AG is corrupt as hell --which is probably why Republicans voted for her.

That's my summary of this article which is available only to paid subscribers:

Bondi named in pay-to-look-away scandal

The investigation found Bondi flitting around the globe — at posh resorts in Hawaii, California and all sorts of places other than the state she was elected to serve.

Gift records examined by The Associated Press found that Bondi had taken more than $51,000 worth of free trips, meals and hotel stays — much of it thanks to corporations that funneled money through the Republican Attorneys General Association.
lRelated Bondi defends herself over lobbyist ties

But the Times found that corporate lawyers did more than just stroke checks. They also stroked Bondi's ego, with one helping arrange for her to be featured on the cover of Inside Counsel — a magazine whose target audience is corporate attorneys.

The Times article suggests that the lobbyists got their way.

So, how do you go about removing a crooked AG?

Maybe remove the first three words, which will distract from the message you and your linked article are trying to get across, which is the corruption. As is, you're likely to get dragged off-topic into debates over sexism, which takes the focus off the corruption.

I changed the title, but I don't doubt for one minute why she's getting so many passes. Ann Coulter had the same magic. The ability to say horrendous things and receive nothing but pats on the back.

Although if you do want to suggest that, I'd do it in the body of the text, and make it explicitly plain you're saying you think sexism (or a form of tokenism) plays a part in her political success. Republicans love to trot out their atypical officeholders who do not reflect the makeup of their electorate to show their 'commitment to diversity'. They find that rare woman who is against women's ability to make their own decisions and trot her out to 'represent' women, or some lunatic AA who agrees with all of the worst racial stereotypes about other PoC so they can pretend their positions 'make sense' and aren't simply driven by and focused on maintaining white male privilege.

This sounds crooked as hell.

We just saw the conviction of our former governor in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Former AG was **This Close** to being indicted. His name was Ken Cuccineli.

The feds stepped in. Maybe that is what needs to happen in Florida.

Keeping the heat up through the paper seems to be critical. It looks like the Orlando Sentinel is going to allow Scott Maxwell to report the details--for now.

Thanks for the info, and the kind words.

I voted for him based on the (D) though I knew next to nothing about him. I think that was the problem. Based on the articles that were being printed it seemed like it was more important to vote against Bondi, than it was to vote for someone that few people really knew.

And, frankly, based on what I have seen in my Republican community, it isn't uncommon for the private sector to corrupt the public sector and vice-versa. So they probably don't understand why anyone would be opposed to what she's doing.

They sunk all their money into Crist. Which was largely a waste because Democrats were never going to outspend Scott.
