(10,893 posts)must not have any skin in the game if he was telling people not to vote. It must feel great for him to have the opportunity to sit out elections and not have to worry about Republicans doing anything to him.
Meanwhile, the rest of us either have to worry about them cutting jobs, benefits, blocking minimum wage increases, eliminating voting rights, or all of the above.

(62,276 posts)He really put it into words that DU has had a hard time coming to terms with. If you don't vote for fixing the situation then the situation won't be fixed. It's that simple.

(12,870 posts)I voted, and I am very disappointed that so many people who have been and will be harmed by a GOP-controlled Congress didn't bother to vote.
But I do feel compelled to point out here that the Democratic Party as a whole -- especially the Third Way neoliberals -- are part of the problem that needs fixing. Voting for candidates that fall into that category does nothing to fix the problem, though it would mitigate the damage if the Dems retained control of the Senate.
