WENATCHEE, Wash. (AP) A seagull with a dart through its neck is surviving at a park in the agricultural city of Wenatchee, in north central Washington state.
The Wenatchee Valley Humane Society has been receiving calls about the bird at Walla Walla Point Park for two months.
In this Oct. 19, 2014, photo, a seagull is photographed with a dart through its neck in Wenatchee, Wash. The dart appears to be 4 to 5-inches long and it is believed to have come from a dart gun, according to Sgt. Jody White with the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. The Humane Society began getting calls about the bird two months ago. (AP Photo/The Wenatchee World, Linda Barta) ONLINE OUT, TV OUT
The Wenatchee World reports ( http://bit.ly/11LEBA8 ) the seagull is able to fly. Attempts to catch it have been unsuccessful.
The Humane Society's Jody White says catching the bird could be more dangerous if it caused the dart to move around. The dart is 4 or 5 inches long and sticks out both sides of the bird's neck.
