Keith Olbermann Roasts Liar Bill O’Reilly Like The Good Old Days (VIDEO)

Keith Olbermann Roasts Liar Bill O’Reilly Like The Good Old Days (VIDEO)

Since leaving MSNBC, Keith Olbermann hasn’t had many opportunities to spar with his former nemesis, Bill O’Reilly. But during his ESPN program on Wednesday night, he finally got one, and it was a shot heard ’round the sports world.

O’Reilly voluntarily put himself into Olbermann’s domain by joining ESPN radio host Dan Le Batard for an interview. Upon being questioned about the accuracy of his claimed athletic prowess, O’Reilly stormed off the show rather than admit being the liar that he is. Keith Olbermann, however, had absolutely no problem fact-checking O’Reilly and promptly named the Fox host as the World’s Worst Person In The Sports World.

“Ohhhh! He’s back!” Olbermann declared. “This is fun. This brings back memories. I’ll stick to his stories about sports and how great he was and how all his teams in high school and college were virtually undefeated.”

Olbermann briefly brought up the fact that O’Reilly didn’t play varsity football during his time at Marist College because in reality, Marist didn’t establish a varsity team until seven years after O’Reilly had already graduated. It was an O’Reilly claim that Olbermann first debunked in 2005, making it even sweeter that Le Batard brought it up again. “I still own your head, Bill,” Olbermann said with a smile.

But that wasn’t the main reason why Olbermann awarded O’Reilly the Worst Person title. During the radio interview, O’Reilly made a dubious claim that he was asked to try out for the New York Mets during his senior year at Marist in 1970-71. O’Reilly, a lifelong Mets fan, claimed that during his tryout, a 5’10” rookie pitcher named Tom Seaver killed O’Reilly’s chance at a big league career by throwing “twice as hard as me.” There’s just one problem with O’Reilly’s story. Not one word of it is true, and Olbermann threw the book at him for it.

Seaver’s rookie year was 1967, when Bill O’Reilly had just turned 18. In his biography, O’Reilly put the alleged Met tryout in his senior year of college, 1970 or ’71, by which point the Mets had already won the World Series, and Seaver had won the Cy Young Award. The only part of this story he hasn’t changed was that he — ‘lifelong Met fan’ — did not recognize Tom Seaver.

in that mix , O'Really's war experiences and how he covered four wars with his pen, which he compares to real military service.

O'Really does live in a fantasy world where he was a star on the gridiron, a possible Hall of Farmer, and a John Wayne character leading the troops with his blazing pen.

I would feel sorry for Bill-O but he is a loud mouthed bully in addition to being a pathetic liar.

I have no interest in sports, and wish he was back on MSNBC, but I sure enjoy looking at him.

Good-looking son of a bitch. And witty too.

Oh, and I do know who Tom Seaver is. One of the big names in baseball.

"I miss Keith Olbermann" or "Wish he was back on MSNBC" or some such. Almost every one of them.

I miss him too. We need his voice and his outrage.

I was 14 when the Vietnam war ended, but just add 4 years to my age and presto! I was there! And I was Rambo!

This is O'Reilly's M. O.
