If you read "Tomatoland", I believe the author states that if you have eaten a store-bought tomato (or one at a fast food place) you have eaten food picked by slave labor.

when I saw what this is about. I feel that "Tomatoland" is a must read for anyone who wants to be informed. It was an eye-opener, and not in a good way. For the past few years, I have been growing my own tomatoes and freezing them, or buying them at the farmer's markets during the summer. No fresh tomatoes in the winter anymore.

If you learned a lot from "Tomatoland", try "The American Way of Eating". Once el Rushbo dissed the latter, I snapped it up. A great read.

And yes, I can tomatoes and also grow some.
