About the STASI in East Germany after the Berlin Wall went up? I wonder if anyone saw any comparison with the direction the NSA is going?

(20,585 posts)My takeaway was that when one person lives with compassion and does the right thing - it lives on to make the world a better place if even for a small circle of people.
I don't think our country has reached the level of the STASI.

(2,682 posts)I agree with KT2000 -- any similarity with NSA ends with the ending of the movie when the spy finally "gets" it. NSA will never "get" it.
