Can you think of anything lower than a pharmaceutical maker shorting production to make a $

The 5 people who make Plaquenil and the generic, Hydroxychloroquine, decided some months ago to slow production to a trickle, leaving some patients unable to find the meds. Once they slowly began producing more, the price has gone up from roughly .50 cents a pill to over $5.00 a pill (for those who can find it). Sure from .50 cents to $5 bucks doesn't sound like much, but this is one of those meds that we'll be on until the day we die. I'm supposed to take 2 a day. I'm also supposed to take another medication that went from $20 bucks a month to over $100 month for a four dose pack. My cost for those generics that have been around forever went from about $40 a month to nearly $400 a month in less than a year.

Last year it was my chemotherapy medicine Methotrexate that they shorted supply and then jacked up the cost.

This isn't some sexy drug that makes my eyelashes fuller (yes, there's a drug for that, complete with a ton of warnings and side effects. Latisse " the first and only FDA-approved treatment for inadequate or not enough lashes&quot , but one that helps my immune system stop attacking my vital organs.

What kind of sick fuck sees a captive, sick audience and decides that's where he'll make the shareholders more money next quarter?

The price of insulin has approximately doubled within the past 18 months.

Gotta grow Grow GROW! And with finite resources and finite products and finite customers, there are few places left to grow. Under-paying employees and over-charging customers are two of them
