By Michael Kelly / World-Herald columnist

In the final stages of cancer, Omaha home remodeler Mark Windorski, 53, knew he wouldn’t live to see his daughter’s wedding in May.

But Kelli, 26, had a surprise.

As people gathered in and around her dad’s Methodist Hospital room on Nov. 4, a recorded “Wedding March” was played. In walked Kelli — in a wedding gown.

About 20 relatives, nurses and others applauded. As Mark was embraced by Roxie, his wife of 32 years, he wept.
