Glenn Beck Gets Hit With Defamation Lawsuit, Judge Allows It To Proceed To Court

The hateful host and founder of TheBlaze jumped way over the line last year after the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 when he publicly named Saudi national Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi as the “terrorist” directly connected to the deadly attacks that claimed 3 lives and injured 264 others.

Alharbi had been detained and questioned about the attack, but was cleared. As we all know, Chechen brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev were responsible for the bombing. Tamerlan was shot and killed by police and his brother was captured after a massive manhunt.

Even these facts did not deter Beck from continuing to claim that Alharbi was a terrorist. Fed up with Beck constantly dragging him name through the mud, Alharbi finally slapped the right-wing host with a defamation lawsuit that could cost Beck a ton of money if he were to lose. So naturally, he tried to squash the lawsuit. He asked a judge to dismiss the case and today, US District Judge Patti Saris made her decision.

Unfortunately for Beck, Saris refused to dismiss the case, writing that Beck “made numerous false statements about Alharbi on his radio show, even after he was cleared.”
