"I am by no means racist"

A Texas school board member apologized after posting an image of a member of the Ku Klux Klan with the caption "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" to his Facebook page, television station KTAL reported on Monday.

Chris Harris, a board member for the Hooks Independent School District in the town of Hooks, posted two apologies to Facebook after posting the offensive image. After removing the offending post, he maintained in both apologies that he was not "a racist."

Harris also explained that the original post was "meant as a joke" that he realized "offended people" and that "got taken way out of context."

You have got to be fucking kidding me... Maybe he can explain the context(or the fucking alternate reality) in which a picture of a KKK member with a caption "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" is not racist.

Yeah we live in "Post Racial America" where there is no racism, just people making jokes... ha ha ha...

That someone would look at that picture and not realize it would be offensive. My guess is that he knows it was offensive and it was a bit of a dog whistle.

of a dog whistle. It is, without a doubt, intentionally offensive - the kind of thing my father would find funny back when I was a very young girl. But even he, the racist Bircher that he was, wouldn't say so in public.

From wikipedia:

The racial makeup of the city was 84.02% White, 10.12% African American, 0.98% Native American, 0.44% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 1.45% from other races, and 2.93% from two or more races.

There are black students in that school district. This board member should be recalled or forced to resign.
