in the Eric Garner chokehold case?
She was a New York Senator after all.

(34,648 posts)After the way she behaved in 2008, she is saying exactly what I expect her to say. Nothing.
Remember, she said herself that her voters are the 'hardworking working class white voters'. No reason for her to say anything.
Sad. I had hoped she would get out in front on the issue, but that takes empathy and courage.

(31,856 posts)"I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on," she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article "that found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."

(2,256 posts)I never cared for her after she said how much she depends on Henry Kissinger for advice.

(7,412 posts)I haven't seen any other viable 2016 Democratic candidates offering opinions either.
I'm sure her team kicks all these ideas around the triangle. Going anti-police will lose their union support and $$$, highlighting the racial aspect will alienate and drive away some white voters, condemning the grand jury decision before actually seeing the grand jury documents would be reckless, etc, etc.....

(31,856 posts)That's not who she is. Good, bad, indifferent - that's not a Hillary Clinton activity. She doesn't have that kind of warmth.

(31,856 posts)ETA - and very cold and analytical response!
She's not warm. She will come across as fake if she tries to play Pelosi. Pelosi is evetyone's Italian mother in law!

(31,856 posts)She is one of the best politicians this country has ever had. Note - I'm not one of these Warren / Sanders folks.
Good, bad, indifferent - your fights/debates are with them.
Those two will fail in a national election - but Clinton won't be able to move us forward if she wins either. Not even incrementally. She will be saddled by a House that hates her guts as much as they hate Obama.
Now come back here - because I'm probably going to get hit with a ton of bricks for telling the truth about a Warren or Sanders nominee! I'm going to need help.

(13,184 posts)What Hillary said, from the link above:
I know that a lot of hearts are breaking, and we are asking ourselves, Arent these our sons? Arent these our brothers? Clinton said. Those families, and those communities, and our country deserve a full and fair accounting, as well as whatever ... reforms are necessary to ensure equal justice and respect for every citizen.
Speaking a day after a New York grand jury declined to indict the officer involved in Garners death, and just more than a week after a similar outcome in Ferguson, Clinton said she was pleased that the US Department of Justice has committed to further investigation in both cases.
However, she also said the cases present an opportunity for meaningful dialogue and healing on issues surrounding race relations and law enforcement. She warned against the overuse of military-style equipment in policing, said citizens should stop and think about the effect of the frequent incarceration of African American men.
When one stops and realizes a third of all black men face the prospect of prison during their lifetimes, what devastating consequences that has for their families and their communities and all of us, Clinton said. These tragedies did not happen in some far away place; they didnt happen to some other people. These are our streets, our children, our fellow Americans and our grief.

(62,276 posts)brooklinyte was not defending Clinton "non-responding" when you didn't even fucking give Clinton a chance to respond with your clickbait OP.
And of course, now that the response is clear, and coherent, you could delete the OP, or at least edit it with the link to her commentary, but oh, no, you let it fester.
