I just filled my tank for 2.39 a gallon.. Regular gas........ How about you?

Last week it was 2.51.

Lil car has a 11 gallon tank, Mr. Dixie's Ford whatever has double that, I think.

Really never thought I would see under 3.00 prices again.

-10 bucks a tank in my commuter car
-20 a tank in my DW's DD that we also use for most all family trips.

That's assuming it has always been 3.50 a tank, when in reality it's slowly drifted down to 2.36 so we don't really notice the bank balance. Only the thought of saving 100 bucks remains.

Every time the 20 bucks goes further and further. Of course now, here in Oklahoma, they are starting to talk about how it will eventually cost some people their jobs. Idiots never learn that everything goes in cycles.

Does not matter to me. Three weeks from exactly this moment I will be on my way out of the state and then out of the country. Three weeks in Europe and then to my new home in Mauritius.

We retired very early in 2005, and in looking where to land, Mr. Dixie wanted to consider Mexico, given his fond memories of being there in teh 70's.
But....I did not want to move there, so he obligingly agreed we could move to another foreign ( for him) land....the Deep South.

There have been a number of surveys in recent years that have found that people by and large were driving less because of higher fuel prices. See this for instance: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0966692311001578

Thing is, I only fill up about once every 4 to 6 weeks or so and that is only the half a tank it takes to top it up. It's a 1989 Nissan Sentra and uses very little gas. I only go anywhere a few times a month and that's usually to just the stores a couple miles down the road.

Those sound like good prices though. Gratz!
