U.S. raid to rescue two hostages, one a journalist. Captors spotted the U.S. rescuers and a firefight ensued. Hostages were killed.

Sounds really sad -- the South American was going to be released through other efforts, but apparently the WH did not know that, and ordered that both men be "liberated". They were killed.

I don't think that's a lot of discussion, and I think I know why... No one wants to discuss that which might be seen as a negative in the context of President Obama okaying the mission.
