2. It's a conundrum.

Democrats once had the support of a majority of first responders and the military, the first because of Dem support for unions and the military for other reasons, but then a majority of both went right because of leftist movements against police brutality and war. I cannot condone police brutality, but it would be better if police were on our side rather than hating us. I can't see a way out though. The protests are vitally necessary.

They supported us because we were on their side for better working conditions, wages, and health care. But, because we object to police brutality we lose their support. Well thanks but no thanks if they can't support us even though we object to our regularly scheduled beating they can go to ####!!!!

8. I agree. The protests must continue until things change and not end a minute sooner.

I just wish I could think of a way to come out the other side not being enemies. I can't think of one though. Maybe someone else can.

10. Law Enforcement is going to have to recognize the need for change for that to happen.

Barring that we are going to have to force change. If it means we have lost the law enforcers so be it. They can't continue to act as if they are above the laws they swore to uphold.

police forces.

Then in addition to song and prayer we need to get responsible action on cleaning up local police forces from local politicians. The brutality especially against African-Americans has to stop.

Maybe there would be less cause for the police to fear citizens if the citizens had less reason to fear the police.

Somehow we have to find a middle ground and cooperation between law enforcement and citizens if our cities are to remain peaceful. The police have the power, the extremely forceful weapons and therefore have the upper hand. With their superior power goes greater responsibility. That's the way it goes.

7. And "Oh, Holy Night" (I think?... it was a Christmas carol.)

Did get to hear them singing "Amazing Grace" too. Held a tune pretty damn good Riot cops and Christmas caroling protesters. That was one of those whats-the-matter-with-picture moments. Thanks for sharing links.
