Iran, Russia To Build Emergency Center In Caspian Region
TEHRAN, Dec. 09 (MNA) During a meeting between Iranian interior minister and Russian minister for emergency on Monday, the two sides agreed on opening an emergency center in Caspian Sea region.
Iranian Interior Minister and Head of Iran Drug Control Headquarters Abdolreza Rahamani Fazli proposed the establishment of a state center for cooperation and coordination among emergency organizations of the Caspian Sea littoral states.
The Russian Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Andreyevich Puchkov welcomed Irans proposal and announced that his respective ministry would endeavor for its realization.
This proposal is in line with the implementation of agreements that were reached at the summit of the Caspian littoral states leaders at Astrakhan in order to develop cooperation, said Rahmani Fazli.
He noted that this center could function as an independent unit to combat such issues as Caspian Sea pollution and holding war games to deal with unexpected events and incidents.
