I always feel wrong when I justiify. When it is just, I never have to say a thing.

NO - just NO!

THREE LEFTS make a right, but two wrongs decidedly do NOT!

is the most certain lie on the planet. It is not so much harder to say: It is often said, which it is, but so much easier to hear more words than to know a lot of people. I have heard it out of the mouths of a lot of people prefaced by: Two wrongs never make a right; But... exception to follow.
I think what is generally accepted is that two wrongs are not twice as wrong as one wrong, but just as wrong.

These people count on the fact that we don't know what they're really saying.

Sadly, they're right most of the time.

As a white person, all I know is that I have know idea what it is like on a day to day basis to be Black. I realize I haven't a clue how powerful my white privilege is, that it's almost totally invisible to me, as real as it is.

I hope I never lose sight of my ignorance.

is I don't know. I never try to tell a Native what it feels like to be an Indian. That is one of the reasons it is nice to have a language that is not all goobered up with lies and false meaning so that we can communicate. Communication is truth.

with the proviso that anyone who uses/used any of those derisive, racist rationalizations should just unfriend me now.

(Facebook is my method for staying in contact with friends/family in NZ, England, Costa Rica and other parts of the globe. Since Trayvon was murdered, I've been regularly posting anti-racist adjurations. Please don't fuss at me for using fb...)

His life is the most precious thing to my wife and I. It terrifies me every time another jury or grand jury hangs a big ass target sign on his back as right wing media & Republicans/teabaggers cheer!

PEACE!

Always in the background, occasionally flaring up high.

On Monday my friend took me shopping. As we waited at the stoplight a cop car pulled up and stopped across from the car and stared intently at her. Then his expression changed and he quickly gunned his car and did a u-turn around us and left us alone.

He had noticed my beautiful black friend had a decrepit old white lady in the passenger seat.
(white privilege saves the day!) I wish there were a bitterness smile.

We were furious and although I knew being pulled over for being black was real, I witnessed it first hand that evening. I feel so useless.

OKay my anger has gone up to eleven, I need to go pet a kitty for a few moments.

I always hate that; it implies that what's happening in real-life to real people is all a game. This is no "game" that I (or any person I know) want to be part of.
