3. You are absolutely right. The only distinction is that Manson is insane.

These fucks knew exactly what they were doing. Just like Nixon, they had no problem letting others suffer and die for the purpose of their own enrichment.

4. No. One was an unfeeling, evil, maniacal, egotistical, psychotic, cold-blooded murderer.

And the other one was Manson.

Sorry, I'm been watching too much Craig Ferguson lately.
I'm going to miss that gay skeleton robot.

5. If the flowery feel good phrase "no one is above the law" was true

they would be behind bars already.

As it is, that phrase is nothing more than something politicians like to say to get cheers from the crowd. Knowing all the while that even as they say it, they don't believe it - since they think they're above the law.

Manson wasn't above the law.

He has nuts & guilty of all sorts of things but think there a case could be made for strong reasonable doubt for first or second degree murder.

He had one of the worst trial defenses in history, most of it was his own fault but also his attorney turned him missing & dead during the trial and his defend of his co-defendants came at the expense of Manson.

That said, he's insane and could have stopped his followers if he really wanted to.

I'd guess there is probably more evidence against Bush & Cheney than Manson.

10. Yeah, because killing a pregnant actress is the same thing as torturing someone who is actively

trying to kill citizens in your country. Never mind those who participated in the murder of over 3,000 Americans. Hint: terrorists aren't nice people. Sharon Tate was. It's positively sickening you even drew that parallel. Disgusting.

11. The right not to be tortured is not limited to 'nice people'

And why are you sure that all the people who were tortured were actually trying to kill people, or participating in 9-11? It is clear that some of the people who were tortured were not even suspects.

And my own government was complicit as hell; the whole thing makes me sick.

there is only one morally defensible use of the death penalty-
lying politicians.
you want to add war crimes, torture, mass murder?

hang them exactly like Saddam, in the same place, the same way.
in front of their kids.
