Hillary Clinton is by far the most qualified person in the United States to serve as President. If she runs, I will support her. I have known Hillary for almost twenty-five years. We first met when I was the governor of Vermont and she was the First Lady, giving us the opportunity to work together in various capacities, particularly on expanding health care access. During those years, I have learned that she is one of the most conscientious and competent people I have ever met. She has an enormous capacity to analyze and solve problems. She has a work ethic that drives her to persist until the job is done and done right. And she has a record in the Senate of successfully working with both sides of our very combative political spectrum in order to accomplish goals that improve the lives of ordinary Americans

(5,169 posts)Is there anyone in any strong position who believes that the Democratic Party should be a socialist party in every way but name?
Elizabeth Warren is willing to go after Wall Street, but is she willing to issue whatever executive orders are necessary to nationalize the financial, energy, and agricultural sectors? The fact that she is not an atheist, but she is a former Republican who does not have a big habit of speaking out on socially progressive cultural issues, may be setting up many purists for a disappointment and a quick trip under the bus for her.
And will Bernie Sanders stand up to Israel and demand open borders and the end of the blockade with Palestine? Will he pull all troops out of the Middle East, stop bombing ISIS, and start offering meaningful compensation to everyone who was directly or indirectly affected by U.S. Military action?
If not them, then who else has got the name recognition and fanatical support of at least a few hundred to a few thousand people who can afford to volunteer 30 to 40 hours a week for the next 2 years?

(13,108 posts)I'm ready for President Bernie Sanders; the man who represents the needs of the hard working and unemployed.
The man who wants to protect Social Security.
The man who rails against Wall Street.
The man who knows free trade in not fair trade.
The man who knows the minimum wage is an insult to American workers.
Too bad the uninformed and misinformed will continue to vote against their best interests.
