A Freeport High School junior has planned, developed and paid for his own snowmaking system.

Caiden designed his own system and put it together using an interesting assortment of parts, new and used. He dug his own trenches to protect his hoses which run up the hill behind his house. He has installed a rope tow, although he needs a bigger motor. There are pumps in the basement that power the entire system.

"I've always been fascinated by snowmaking," says Caiden who is a high school junior. He would like to attend a college that has its own ski area and offers an engineering program.
