Gomer brings anti-Mormon, anti-Jew, anti-LGBT pastor to pray to Jesus in U.S. House

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/12/louie-gohmert-brings-anti-mormon-anti-jew-anti-lgbt-pastor-to-pray-to-jesus-in-u-s-house/

On Tuesday, Tea Party favorite Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) posted video of far-right Christian pastor Robert Jeffress delivering the opening prayer in the U.S. House of Representatives....

Jeffress is the head of First Baptist Church, a megachurch located in Dallas. In the past, the outspoken evangelical has called Mormonism a cult, creating waves during Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA)’s presidential run in 2012.

Jeffress has also called Judaism a cult, said that President Barack Obama is the new Adolf Hitler, and that Obama is paving the way for the Antichrist to come and rule over the Earth.

Jeffress is an adamant opponent of LGBT rights, saying that God has ruled on the topic and that there should be no further discussion of the issue. To allow LGBT Americans to have equal protection under the law, the pastor said, will fundamentally weaken the U.S. in the eyes of the world and of God and hasten the country’s downfall.

These are the three craziest people ever to simultaneously be seated in congress, IMHO.

And it speaks volumes about the voters that put them in office...voters that are racists, bigots, misogynists, and delusional religious fanatics!

Sounds like ISIL, only without the beheadings...so far!!!

Calling Gohmert "Gomer" is a DU convention meant to call attention to the resemblance between the two. Sort of like calling Boehner "Boner".

There is not resemblance between the two. Even the Gomer Pyle character was a loving and empathetic person who thought ill of no one. I guess they are both from the South?

Gomer Pyle, that is, not Jim Nabors. I am quite familiar with Nabors, having lived in Hawai'i for several years, where his Christmas concerts were among the events of the season.

Let's not forget President Obama selecting Rick Warren in 2008.

He is partly responsible for the laws against homosexuals in Uganda.

But depending on who the republicans get to run in 2016 he could be right about Obama paving the way for the antichrist to take over and rule us all.
