And who do you think trust the media more - Democrats or Republicans??
It seems to me that liberals question those media sources that are mostly friendly to their cause moreso than Republicans question those media sources that are mostly friendly to their cause? In fact, they seem to take everything the conservative media says as gospel and seldom question any of their assertions. Just my opinion.
Is there anyone in the media that you trust 100% ? Or do you question everyone from time to time??

(14,177 posts)I don't watch it or read it for the most part at least not without a salt shaker handy. Our MSM has degraded into the shallowest of reporting. There is very little investigative journalism going on anymore. MSM rarely if ever rebuts easily proven lies. I have rarely seen any evidence of critical thinking in MSM. It is tiring to watch this train wreck we call the media when you have to take notes and fact check everything.

(31,011 posts)It's a matter of being able to discern what is the facts of their reporting and what is the spin/opinion.
The Faux news watchers don't even attempt to discern. They take it all as fact if it lines up with their thinking.
Trust is not something I look for in any media because it is not a factor for me.

B. The rest of the week, I can count on them to tell me how Wall Street wants me to see the world.

(23,340 posts)The New York Times exists in the same city as the New York Post and the New York Daily News.
Skepticism and critical thinking is important to any viewer of media. Sharpen those tools!
I don't totally trust any single source, which is why I read many sources on a story that is important to me. The best media are those organizations that attempt to be thorough and objective, even though they may have an institutional bias, or individual bias, that causes them to make decisions about what to report or not report I might not agree with.
Reader Beware! Be skeptical always, and keep reading! Form your own opinions.

(6,295 posts)....generally, if there is a shill and a large corporation attached to a story, the material is suspect and usually bogus crap....
....view what you will, believe what you want, but until you realize that the MSM are lying corporate propagandists selling an agenda, you'll never really know what going on in our world....

(7,639 posts)Our media squanders bandwidth (and their claim on public attention) with "in depth" coverage of trivialities like the Ann Romney/Hillary Rosen kerfuffle. Meanwhile, little things like the pentagon budget are accompanied by a fanfare of silence.
The biggest political story of recent decades should be the looting of America by private interests...more silence.
The media can serve the interests of the people or the interests of the plutocracy- but not both. The media has abdicated its role as an enabler of informed debate in favor of serving the propaganda needs of the very rich.
America is no longer a functional democracy.

(10,893 posts)but that's it. I'm not too crazy about Hardball, Meet the Press, Andrea Mitchell, Now With Alex Wagner, or Chuck Todd.
CNN wants to present itself as moderate & non-partisan. But I think it is center-right, & they cave in to pressure often from conservatives to not call them out on their nonsense more (such as the Newt Gingrich-John King moment), and it is infuriating how they try to create a false equivalence between Democrats and Republicans, as if both parties are equally to blame for our problems.
Fox News is simply a mockery. They have a ton of lying, mean-spirited conservative pundits, and they find the most dimwitted people they can to come on there to represent liberals.
That's my $0.02 on the media.
