saying that what they're doing is less disgusting than what the US did. That beheadings are far cleaner than repeated 'almost drownings', 'rectal rehydration', etc. And an argument could be made that they're right. Not that what they do is 'right', but that it is a 'lesser evil' than what America has been doing.

They are the same in that any means justifies the ends they want. They are different in that ISIS is doing what they do for religious and sectarian reasons while Cheney does it out of pure personal profit motives. Neither blink at killing or torture and of course lying.
