As a supporter of Hillary Clinton, I've been clear that I have no objection to Elizabeth Warren running for President, and if she became the nominee, I would support her. However, in my assessment, she's been as clear as possible that she won't do it: her public comments, her PRIVATE ones (I believe I mentioned I had a private lunch with her a few months ago), her encouragement of a Clinton campaign, etc.
Now, a lot of people still support her running, and in fact insist that she will run or can be convinced to. Will these people be willing to acknowledge that Warren is strong enough to make up her own mind, and that if she DOESN'T decide to run, it will her choice and not "The Party" or "TPTB" that "forced her out"? And, having spent their time focused on Warren as opposed to another progressive who might be amenable, they won't whine that "they weren't given a choice"?
Hmm?

(9,527 posts)I'll be doing plenty of whining (and probably a fair amount of crying).
But as a general rule, there is nobody I can think of that would be able to win the Democratic primary that I would feel is worse than the best that I can see coming out of the Republican primary.
