Old arguments? And

"one of the strengths that makes America exceptional is our willingness to openly confront our past, face our imperfections, make changes and do better."


I'm really sick at heart at the way he continues to minimize torture. As if to say, 'Oops, our bad!' I would have thought he had a deeper personal moral code, at least. But no, he identifies fully now with the elite, with the Bushes and the Cheneys, with those who feel they are above the law. He's really bought into that idea of American exceptionalism, that the USA doesn't have to be held to international law. What a disappointment he has turned out to be.
