NEW YORK (WABC) -- A man is being questioned after two officers were assaulted amid massive protests over police violence.

As many as 30,000 people flooded the streets Saturday night - even shutting down the Brooklyn Bridge calling for change to the justice system.

The NYPD says two lieutenants were trying to stop the protesters from throwing a garbage can on a police car when they were kicked in the head and face.

it's that out of those 30,000 peaceful protesters a small number (how many? Maybe three?) misbehaved and injured a couple of cops. Surprisingly, the protesters didn't get shot. Maybe that should be the news.

Continue to leave people fewer methods of communication, the clashes will escalate along with the level of frustration.

Asking victims families to do the dirty work is not the answer. Seems the only time politicians and law enforcement want to hear from victims of police brutality is to stick a mic in their faces so they can tell folks to stay calm and respectable-like. That's a bandaide on an artery.

to all those participating in these marches and to all the voices who continue to speak up against injustice.
