Very difficult to distill my choice to one. 
This was the toughest competition I can remember!

Round-Up Ready! reminded me of family. I can smell that photo.
My mom's family origins are wild west rancher, and my dad's family origins are wild west miner and California dairy.
For me it was the photo, "SERENITY". That was so evocative, yet I couldn't figure out why. I think it was the time I lived in University City, near the University of Pennsylvania campus. Looked like the streets I walked on. It was pretty much a Victorian neighborhood with trees growing out of the sidewalk. Was only there two years, but it reminded me of that area....I think. Still not sure. 
Maybe it was something going back to my childhood.

It's what I always strive for. All the glory and none of the pain of having to run the next contest.

i really liked remnants and thought that would end up being teh winner
hopefully i'll remember to start winters contest on time (unlike the summer contest i forgot about )
