Bondi files appeal, asking U.S. Supreme Court to delay gay marriage in Florida

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi on Monday filed an emergency appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court in an attempt to keep gay marriages from starting in Florida in three weeks.

Her office asked the high court to extend a stay that is set to expire Jan. 5.

If the court rules in her favor, same-sex couples would be blocked from getting marriage licenses in Florida. Also, the state would not be required to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states.

She was re-elected by a huge landslide in spite of non stop attacks by the entire so called Florida media for four years. She was re-elected to enforce the law. That's what she is doing. Period.

But if the court rejects her petition or takes no action, same-sex couples could lawfully get married in Florida Jan. 6 and gay and lesbian couples married elsewhere would have the same rights as other married couples.

Don't see that in the article...made me think this was linked to an opinion piece.
